There are a large variety of software tools available both in the public domain and commercially. SESP has brought together a few of those that were thought useful to the computational science and engineering community. They fall into the following broad categories:

The list of tools discussed here cannot be exhaustive so we have made a selection on this page of those that fall outside the usual compilers, debuggers and SCM tools that developers will be familiar with.
